EEMAN IN THE PROPHET – SAL ALLAAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM

Written by: Muhammad Al-Shareef

One day the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – sat with his companions when a Bedouin came. Immediately the man asked the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam, “When is the final hour?” A question the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – disliked. The Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – replied, “What have you prepared for it?” The Bedouin said, “I have not prepared much Salah, or much Sawm, or much Sadaqah, but one thing: I love Allah and His Messenger.” Then the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – said, “You shall be with whom you love!” Anas – Radi Allahu Anhu – the narrator of the hadith said, “By Allah, nothing brought us more happiness after our Islam than that statement: ‘you shall be with whom you love.’ I love Allah and His Messenger, and Abu Bakr and Umar; And I hope to be with them (on the final day) eventhough I have not done as much as they did. – Muslim

In the hadith of Jibraeel, when he came to the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – in front of the companions in the form of a man and asked him – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – about Islam, Iman, and Ihsan. He said when asked about Iman, “Iman is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His Messenger, the Final Day and the divine decree, the good and the bad thereof.” Today we shall talk about Iman in the messengers. And specifically, Iman in the final Messenger, Muhammad ibn Abdillah – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam.

When the Messenger of Allah – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – performed Hijra from Makkah to Medinah, he and his companion Abu Bakr – Radi Allahu Anhu – stopped at the home of Umm Ma’bad. They asked her for food/milk and she said that there was none. Then, seeing a weak, frail calf in the corner, the Messenger of Allah – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – asked if he could milk it. The Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – pet the calf on the back, praying, until it opened it’s legs in preparation for milking. The milk poured and poured as Umm Ma’bad watched in shock.

Later, when her husband came home with the frail flock he saw the blessing shine from the walls and inquired, “What has happened here?” Umm Ma’bad then described the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam. Her description of the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – is one of the most detailed. Amongst the things she said was that his face was like a moon and his voice was beautiful. His beard was long and full, his hair reached his shoulders. Tranquility befell him when he was silent, and if he spoke he was magnificent. From far he was the handsomest man, and from near he was the greatest. Flanking him were men, if he spoke they listened, and if he commanded, they hastily complied.

Abu Ma’bad knew who he was. He said, “Verily this is the man that Quraish is looking for. I once thought of following him, and when I meet him I shall.” He then called out poetry that all the inhabitants of Makkah heard on the horizon:

Jaz Allahu Rabbin Naasi Khayra Jazaa’ihi / Rafeeqayn Qaala Khaymati Umma Ma’badi
Huma Nazalaaha bil Huda, fah tadat bihi / Faqad Faza man Amsa Rafeeqa Muhammadi
What can you say in only one Khutbah about a man that Encyclopedias were written on only his character. I would like in these short moments however to reflect on some of the things Allah blessed His Messenger – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – with, in this world and the next.

1. The Final Messenger. Muhammad ibn Abdullah was the final Messenger of Allah, There shall be no Prophets or Messengers after him. And whoever claims such is a liar. He – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – said, “The example of myself and the prophets before me is that of a man who built a house, beautifying it, except for a corner where a brick was missing. People would go around admiring the structure but remarking, ‘if only it was completed here.’ The Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – then said, “I am that brick, I am the last of the Prophets.” – Muslim

2. Security for the Ummah. Rasul Allah – Sal Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam – – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – was a protection for the Ummah. Allah would not punish them so long as he was amongst them. Allah declared [And Allah would not punish them (so long) as you are amongst them. Nor shall he punish them so long as they seek forgiveness.] Anfal 8/34

3. His wives are our Mothers. Rasul Allah’s – Sal Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam – wives are our mothers. Allah declared [The prophet is closer to the believers (those of Eeman) than their ownselves and his wives are their mothers.] Al-Ahzaab 33:6

4. Protected by Allah. No one could harm the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – because Allah was his protector. [And Allah will protect you from the people…] Al ma’idah 5/67

5. The Greatest. He was the greatest human. He – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – told us, “I am the chief son of Adam, with no boast.”

6. The Greatest Followers. He lived amongst the greatest men and women, his companions. He – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – said , “The best generation is my generation…”

7. A witness over us all. Rasul Allah – Sal Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam – – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – shall be a witness over the entire Ummah of Islam. Allah – Subhaanahu wa Ta ‘Aala – says [ How (will it then ) be, when we bring from each nation a witness and we bring you ( O Muhammad – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam -) as a witness against these people?] This is the verse that made Him weep. Nisa 4:41

8. Allah Swore by Him. And Allah testified by his life in the Qur’an. [By your life (O Muhammad – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam -) verily they are in their intoxication wandering blindly] Al Hijr 15/72

9. The Most Followers. And he will have the most followers than any other Prophet. He – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – said, “Amongst the Prophets on the day of resurrection I shall have the most followers.”

And on the day of judgement, Rasul Allah – Sal Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam – will claim the highest position amongst creation: Al Maqaam Al Mahmood. Allah will give him the fountain of Al-Kawthar. And He will be allowed to intercede for his Ummah.

Mustafa Ar-Rifaee commented “It’s interesting how many Muslims have failed to recognize the wisdom behind the name of the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – being called 5 times across the world: Ash-hadu Anna Muhammadur Rasullullaah. Not only that, but in every Salaah and Nafilah, his name is whispered all across the body: Allahumma Salli ala Muhammadin … Could the wisdom be nothing other than the Ummah not cutting off the remembrance of their Prophet for not a single day of history, for not even a portion of the day.” And Allah knows best.

Part II: The Prophet’s – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – Rights over Us

Some have exaggerated the status of Rasul Allah – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – attributing to him things that are only befitting of Allah. Others sought to show their love by holding bithday parties, what is known as Mawlid An-Nabi for the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam. This is not how someone should show his love, for it is a form of worship unauthorized by the Sunnah or the practice of the early Muslim generations. And whatever is not authorized by the Shariah is rejected by Allah.

Love can only be expressed by following the Messenger of Allah – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – everyday of our lives.

Do you know why Allah – Subhaanahu wa Ta ‘Aala – sent Muhammad – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam? Allah sent him to be obeyed and imitated, a living example of the Quran. Rasullualah has rights over us, and these rights include the following.

· He must be loved more than our family, children, more than oneself. He – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – said, “One of you shall not believe until I am more beloved to him than his children, parents, and all of humanity.” This was how the Companions, male and female were.

Ali ibn Abi Talib said, “By Allah, he was more beloved to us than our wealth, more than our children and fathers and mothers, more than cold water when dying of thirst.”

· Rasul Allah – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – must be respected and revered. Allah states [O you who believe, Do not put yourselves forward before Allah and His Messenger And fear Allah. Verily Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.] al Hujarat 1. The Arabic La-tuqaddimu means do not walk ahead of. This happens when someone is hasty in matters of religion, deciding contrary to the decision of Allah and His Messenger.

· We must pray constantly for our Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam. Everything we know in Islam came to us through him. Jibraeel came to Rasul Allah – Sal Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam – as he was climbing the mimbar and prayed, “Perished be he to whom you are mentioned to and he does not pray for you. Say ameen.” And the Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam – said, “Ameen!”

Dear brothers and sisters, is it not time we started learning more about our Prophet – Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam?

TAUHID ( ISLAMIC MONOTHEISM )

Filed under: Islam — Editor @ 10:53 pm
TAUHID ( ISLAMIC MONOTHEISM )

Tauhid ( Islamic Monotheism ) has three aspects :

(A) Oneness of the Lordship of Allah ; Tauhid-ar-Rububiyah : To
believe that there is only one Lord for all the universe its
Creator, Organizer, Planner, Sustainer, and the Giver of
security, etc., and that is Allah.

(B) Oneness of the Worship of Allah ; Tauhid-al-Uluhiya : To
believe that none has the right to be worshiped [ e.g. praying,
invoking, asking for help (from the unseen), swearing,
slaughtering sacrifices, giving charity, fasting, pilgrimage,
etc. ] but Allah.

(C) Oneness of the Names and the Qualities of Allah ;
Tauhid-al-Asma was-Sifat : To believe that :

(i) We must not name or qualify Allah except with what He or His
Messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him), has named or qualified
Him,

(ii) None can be named or qualified with the Names or
Qualifications of Allah ; e.g. AL-Kareem,

(iii) We must confirm all of Allah's Qualification which Allah
has stated in His Book (the Qur'an) or mentioned throuhg His
Messenger ( Muhammad ) without changing them or ignoring them
completely or twisting the meanings or giving resemblance to any
of the craeted things [ e.g. Allah is present over His Throne as
mentioned in the Qur'an (20:5) :- " The Most Beneficent (Allah)
Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne " over the seventh heaven
; and He only comes down over the first (nearest) heaven to us
on the day of Arafat (the 9th of Dhul-Hijja), and also during
the last third part of the night as mentioned by the Prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him), but He is with us by His Knowledge
only, not by His Personal-Self (Bi-Dhatihi).

Also Allah said : " There is nothing like unto Him and He is
the All-Hearer, the All-Seer " (42:11)

This holy Verse confirms the quality of hearing and the quality
of sight for Allah without resemblance to others, and likewise
He also said :

" To one whom I have created with Both My Hands," (38:75)

" The Hand of Allah is over their hands " (48:10)

This confirms two Hands for Allah, but there is no similarity
for them. This is the Faith of all true believers, and was the
Faith of all the Prophets of Allah, from Noah, Abraham, Moses,
and Christ till the last of the Prophets , Muhammad (peace be
upon them all) . [ It is not like as some people think that
Allah is present everywhere--here, there and even inside the
braests of men ] .

# These three aspects of TAUHID are included in the meaning of
La ilaha
ill-Allah ( none has the right to be worshiped but Allah ) .

# It is also essential to follow Allah's Messenger, Muhammad
(peace be upon him) : Wajub al-Itteba'a and it is a part of
Tauhid-al-Uluhiyah .

This is included in the meaning, " I testify that Muhammad
(peace be upon him) is Allah's Messenger," and this means, "
None has the right to be followed after Allah's Book (the
Qur'an), but Allah's Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him)," .

Allah said :

" And whatsoever the Messenger ( Muhammad) gives you, take it,
and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain from it " (59:7) .

" Say ( O Muhammad to mankind ), If you (really) love Allah then
follow me [ i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur'an
and the Sunnah (legal ways of the prophet Muhammad peace be upon
him), ], Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. "
(3:31) .

Concept of God

Filed under: Islam — Editor @ 12:49 am
Who is above Us All ( He is above Us all, no one is above Him ) ? Who can Only Help Us ?
And is there for Us Always when we need Help 🙂

The question of God’s existence has preoccupied men’s minds for many centuries. Those who believe in God seem to agree that the limited finite human intelligence cannot prove the existence of the infinite boundless God. It can only illustrate or demonstrate his existence to the satisfaction of the curious human mind.

Those who deny God claim to rely on science, philosophy, or special theories of knowledge. Their arguments are sometimes inapplicable, sometimes irrelevant, always complex, and often incomprehensible. However, the developed mind will find its way to Allah. Failure to find the way does not mean that there is no way. Denial of reality does not make it unreal.

As we look around in our environments, we see that every family has a head: every school has a principal, every city or town has a mayor; every province or state has a premier/governor; and every nation has a head of state. Moreover, we know beyond doubt that every beautiful art is the creation of some great artist. All this is obvious, yet it does not satisfy the hunger for knowledge and the curiosity of man about the great things in the world. One often wonders at the beauties of nature with its scenic charm and marvels; the almost endless horizons in the sky and their far-reaching expansions; the ceaseless succession of day and night in the most orderly manner; the course of the sun, the moon, and the great stars; the world of animate and inanimate objects, the continuous process and evolution of man, generation after generation. One often wonders because one would like to know the maker and maintainer of all these things with which we live and which we immensely enjoy.

Can we find an explanation of the great universe? Is there any convincing interpretation of the secret of existence? We realise that no family can function properly without a responsible head, that no city can prosperously exist without sound administration, and that no state can survive without a chief of some kind.

We also realise that nothing comes into being on its own. Moreover we observe that the universe exists and functions in the most orderly manner, and that it has survived for hundreds of thousands of years. Can we, then, say that all this is accidental and haphazard? Or can we attribute the existence of man and the whole world to mere chance?

If man were to come into being by accident or by sheer chance, his entire life would be based on chance, and his whole existence would be meaningless, and no rational being would leave his existence at the mercy of fluctuating chance. Every reasonable human being tries to make his life as meaningful as possible and set for himself a model of conduct according to some design. Individuals, groups and nations do plan their course of action. And every careful plan produces some desired effects. The fact of the matter is that man does engage in planning of one sort or another, and can appreciate the merits of good planning.

Yet man represents only a very small portion of the great universe. And if he can make plans and appreciate the merits of planning, then his own existence and the survival of the universe must also be based on a planned policy. This means that there is a Designing Will behind our material existence, and that there is a Unique Mind in the world to bring things into being and keep them moving in order. The marvellous wonders of our world and the secrets of life are too great to be the product of random accident or mere chance.

In the world, then there must be a Great Force in action to keep everything in order.

In the beautiful nature there must be a Great Artist who creates the most charming pieces of art and produces everything for a special purpose in life. This Force is the strongest of all forces, and this Artist is the greatest of all artists. The true believers and deeply enlightened people recognise this Artist and call Him Allah ( His True and Real Name ) or God. They call Him God because He is the Creator and the Chief Architect of the world, the Originator of life and the Provider of all things in existence. He is not a man because no man can create or make another man. He is not an animal, nor is He a plant. He is neither an idol nor is He a statue of any kind because none of these things can make itself or create anything else. He is not a machine. He is neither the sun nor is He the moon or any other star, because these things are controlled by a great system, and are themselves made by someone else. He is different from all these things, because He is the Maker and Keeper of them all. The maker of anything must be different from and greater than the thing which he makes. We also know that nothing can come to life on its own, and that the marvellous world did not create itself or come into existence by accident. The continuous changes in the world prove that it is made and everything which is made must have a maker of some sort.

The Maker and Sustainer of the world, the Creator of and Provider for man, the Active Force and Effective Power in nature are all one and the same, and that is known to be Allah or God. This is the secret of all secrets and the Most Supreme of all beings. The Holy Qu’ran, the True Book of God say’s:

“Belief in God and His great power alone can provide mankind with the best Possible explanation of many mysterious things in life. This is the safest way to true knowledge and spiritual insight, the right path to good behaviour and sound morals, the surest guide to happiness and prosperity.

Once man believes that God exists he must know His attributes and names. Generally speaking every perfection and absolute goodness belong to Him, and no defect or wrong applies to Him. In specific terms, one should know and believe the following:

1. God is only One, has no partner or son, and neither gives birth, nor is He born. He is eternally besought by all and has no beginning or end, and none is equal to Him ( Holy Qu’ran )

2. He is the Merciful and the Compassionate, the Guardian and the True Guide, the Just and the Supreme Lord, the Creator and the Watchful, the First and the Last, the knowing and the Wise, the Hearing, and the Aware, the Witness and the Glorious, the Able and ‘ the Powerful. ( Holy Qu’ran example )

3. He is the Loving and the Provider, the Generous and the Benevolent, the Rich and the Independent, the Forgiving and the Clement, the Patient and the Appreciative, the unique and the Protector, the Judge and the Peace. ( Holy Qu’ran example )

Each one of these names and attributes of God is mentioned in various places in the Holy Qu’ran. We all enjoy the care and mercy of God Who is so Loving and Kind to His creation. If we try to count His favours upon us, we cannot, because they are countless ( Holy Qu’ran )

God is High and Supreme, but he is very near to the pious thoughtful people; He answers their prayers and helps them. He loves the people who love Him and forgives their sins. He gives them peace and happiness, knowledge and success, life and protection. He welcomes all those who want to be at peace with Him and never rejects any of them. He teaches man to be good, to do the right and to keep away from the wrong. Because He is so Good and Loving. He recommends and accepts only the good and right things. The door of His mercy is always open to any who sincerely seek His support and protection. ( Holy Qu’ran )

The Love of God for His creatures is immense and beyond human imagination. We cannot measure or count His favours. He creates us and takes good care of us, not only from the time of our birth onward, but even long before that. He makes us in the best form of creation and gives us all the senses and faculties that we need for our growth. He helps us when we cannot help ourselves, and provides for us and for our dependents. He creates in man the mind to understand, the soul and conscience to be good and righteous, the feelings and sentiments to be kind and humane.

By His mercy we gain true knowledge and see the real light. Because He is Merciful He creates us in the most beautiful shape and provides us with the sun and the moon, the land and the sea, the earth and the skies, the plants and the animals. He is the Creator of all these things and many others for our benefit and use. He makes things that are of service to us in this life, and gives man dignity and intelligence, honour and respect, because man is the best of all created things and is God’s viceroy on earth.

The mercy O god gives us hope and peace, courage and confidence. It enables us to remedy our griefs and sorrows, to overcome our difficulties and obtain success and happiness. Indeed, the mercy of God relieves the distressed, cheers the afflicted, consoles the sick, strengthens the desperate, and comforts the needy. In short, the mercy of God is active everywhere all the time in every aspect of our lives. Some people may fail to recognise it only because they take it for granted. But it is real and we can feel it with our hearts and appreciate it with our minds.

The Loving Merciful God never forgets us or lets us down or ignores our sincere calls upon Him. By His Mercy and Love He has shown us the Right Way and sent to us messengers and teachers, books and revelations – all are meant for our help and guidance. The last Messenger from God is Muhammad ( SAW ), and the most genuine existing book of Allah is the Qu’ran. From the traditions of Muhammad ( SAW ) and the teachings of the Qu’ran, we learn about the Forgiving God. If a person commits a sin or does something wrong, then he is violating the law of God, committing a grave offence against God and abusing his own dignity and existence. But if he is sincere and wishes to repent, regrets his wrong deeds and wants to return to God, faithfully seeks pardon from God and honestly approaches him, then God will certainly accept him and forgive him. Even those who reject God or his Oneness are assured of forgiveness, should they realise there erroneous attitude and resolve to come back to God. In this connection the Qu’ran say’s:

“God forgives not that partnership should be setup with him; but He forgives anything else, to whom he pleases and; to setup partners with God is to devise a sin most heinous indeed. ( Qu’ran )

“Say oh my servants who have transgressed against their souls! despair not the mercy of God: for God forgives all sins: for he is most forgiving, most merciful. Turn to your Lord ( in repentance ) and submit to him, before the penalty comes on you; after that you shall not be helped. And follow the best of the courses revealed to you from your Lord, before the penalty comes on you on a sudden while you perceive not !” ( Qu’ran )

In return for all these great favours and kindness God does not need anything from us, because He is the needless and the independent. He does not ask us to pay him back, for we cannot reward him or value his immeasurable favours and mercy. What He commands us to do, however, is only to be good, to be thankful and to be appreciative, to follow his recommendations and in force his law, to be the proper manifestation of his goodness and excellent attributes, to be his honest agents and true representatives on earth.

He does not want to enslave us because he is the One who grants us dignity and honour. He does not wish to subjugate us, because He is One who is emancipates us from fear and superstitions. He does not desire to humiliate us because He is the One who creates us and exalts our ranks above all other beings. So whatever rules and prescriptions He passes unto us are designed for our own benefit and good. They are meant to help us enjoy our lives with one another in Peace and Kindness, in brotherhood and co-operation. They are destined to make us attain his most pleasant company and adopt the surest approach to Eternal Happiness in life after death.

There are various ways to know God and there are many things to tell about him. The Great wonders and impressive marvels of the world are like open books in which we can read about God. Besides, God Himself comes to our Aid through the many messengers and revelations He has sent down to man. These messengers and revelations tell us everything we need to know about God. So by reflecting on nature, by hearing the words of the messengers, and by reading the Divine revelations we can gain most convincing knowledge about God and find the Straight Path to Him.

The aforesaid discussion brings forth the following facts:

  1. There is God. He is ONE.

2. He is the creator, sustainer and provider of this universe

and there is no partners unto Him.

3. He is the One and the Only One who can guide us in the

Right Path in all walks of our life. It is in following His

guidance the success and salvation of man, Here and in

the Hereafter lies, says the Qu’ran:

“Allah Himself bears witness that there is no God but He and likewise do the Angels and the men possessed of knowledge bear witness in truth and justice that there is no God but He the Almighty the All-Wise”. ( 3: 18 Holy Qu’ran )
“Say, ‘God’s guidance is the ( only ) Guidance And we have been directed to submit ourselves to the Lord of the Worlds” ( 6: 71 Holy Qu’ran )

Now it is the duty of everyone of us to acknowledge Him, acquire the Knowledge of His guidance and lead a life of complete submission to His guidance.

If We don’t we are the Only Losers Here, We Must hold on to the Rope Of Allah Firmly, and never let go :)))))))))))))))))

TRUE LOVE OF THE PROPHET (S.A.W) ACCORDING TO THE BOOK AND THE SUNNAH

TRUE LOVE OF THE PROPHET (S.A.W) ACCORDING TO THE BOOK AND
THE SUNNAH.

From: Bernard@City-Net.Com Newsgroups:
alt.religion.islam,soc.religion.islam

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Indeed, all praises are due to Allah. We praise Him, seek
His Aid, and beg for His Forgiveness. We seek refuge in
Allah from the evil in ourselves and from the evil outcomes
of our deeds. Whomsoever, Allah, Ta 'Ala, guides, no one
and nothing can take that person astray. Whomsoever,
Allah, Ta 'Ala, takes astray, no one or nothing can guide
that person. I bear witness that there is nothing worthy
of worship except Allah who is alone without any
associates. I bear witness that Muhammad ibnu 'Abd Allah
(SAAW) is Allah's 'Abd (slave) and Messenger. To proceed:

Allah has commanded in the Qur'an (what means): "O you who
believe! Have Taqwah (true fear of Allah) according to His
right and die not except that you are a Muslim. O
Mankind! Have Taqwah of your Lord. The One Who created
you from a single soul and from him He created his mate and
from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah
through Whom you demand your mutual rights and do not cut
off the ties of kinship; surely Allah is ever a Raqeeb
(All-Watcher) over you. O you who believe! Have Taqwah of
Allah and always speak the truth. He will direct you to do
righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And
whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (SAAW) he has
indeed achieved a great achievement."

Verily, the best speech is the Book of Allah and the best
guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ibnu 'Abd Allah
(SAAW). The worst of all affairs in this Diyn are
innovations. Every innovation is a Bid'ah and every Bid'ah
is a going astray and every going astray is in the Hell
Fire.

DEVELOPING TRUE LOVE FOR ALLAH'S MESSENGER (SAAW):

Having the proper love for Allah's Messenger (SAAW) is a
must for any Muslim who is striving to please his/her Lord
and who seeks his/her Lord's Forgiveness. Learning how to
properly apply this love for the last Nabee (SAAW) is to
properly implement the testimony: wa ash hadu ana
Muhammadan rusulu Allah (SAAW). Indeed, one cannot just
say he/she loves the Prophet (SAAW) while his/her actions
and 'Aqeedah are fundamentaly against what the Prophet
(SAAW) brought (i.e. the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah).
Hence, the first step in the process of developing this
love is to acknowledge that the Prophet (SAAW) has a claim
over the believers.

Allah has said in the Qur'an (what means): "The Prophet
(SAAW) is closer to the believers than their ownselves..."
[Al-Ahzab: 6].

Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah (Rahimullah), one of the great
scholars of this Ummah, relates that this Ayah means the
Prophet (SAAW) has a "higher claim" on the believers than
they have on themselves. This claim involves two important
matters:

1. WE CONSIDER ALLAH'S MESSENGER (SAAW) TO BE DEARER THAN
ONE'S OWN SELF.

This is so because this claim is based on love. One has
the most claim to oneself for one loves oneself more than
anything. Thus, a person knows what types of foods,
clothing, etc. he/she likes to eat, drink, etc. more than
all others. However, when it comes to Islam, we know that
Allah knows us better than we know ourselves; thus, we
submit to Him and His Orders. We it comes to the Prophet
(SAAW), we are to love him more than our own selves; thus,
we too put his commandments above our own opinions, logic,
etc.

Once this true love is established, compliance, obedience,
satisfication with his (SAAW) jugdements, and other matters
related to true love will follow. This is confirmed in the
following authentic Haadith found in Sahih Al-Bukhari:

Narrated 'Abd Allah bin Hisham: 'We were with the Prophet
(SAAW) and he was holding the hand of 'Umar ibnu Al-Khattab
(RAA). 'Umar said to him, "O Allah's Messenger (SAAW)!
You are dearer to me than everything except my ownself."
Allah's Messenger (SAAW) said: "No, by Him in Whose Hand my
soul is, (you will not have complete Faith) untill I am
dearer to you than your ownself." Then 'Umar (RAA) said:
"However, now, by Allah, you are dearer to me than my
ownself." He (SAAW) then said: "Now, O 'Umar, (now you are
a believer)."

LESSONS FROM THIS HAADITH:

A. The Negation and Affirmation:

The Prophet (SAAW) negates (i.e. rejects, denies) that a
person can have complete Imaan with his statement, "No, by
Him in Whose Hand my soul is...". Thus, the affirmation,
or condition of having complete Imaan, follows: "...until I
am dearer to you than your ownself...". Therefore, the
Muslim will never attain true Imaan unless he/she considers
the Prophet (SAAW) to be dearer to him/her than everything
including one's ownself.

B. Character of the Sahabah:

Upon hearing that true Imaan can only be achieved through
loving the Messenger (SAAW) more than everything, including
one's self, 'Umar (RAA) quickly complied with the
commandment of the Prophet (SAAW). The Sahabah wasted no
time in doing those acts which were pleasing to Allah and
His Messeger (SAAW).

2. SECOND IMPORTANT MATTER:

The Messenger (SAAW) has more rule over an individual than
that individual has over his/herself. This means that a
person only does those actions which are in accordance with
the Book of Allah and the authentic Sunnah of His Messenger
(SAAW).

Therefore, three critical conditions must be fulfilled in
order for a deed to be accepted:

a. One must confess his/her belief in Islam (i.e. one must
be a Muslim). b. One must have Ikhlaas of the Niyah (i.e.
purity of the intention). c. One must do that deed in
accordance with the Book of Allah and the authentic Sunnah
of His Messenger (SAAW).

If one of these conditions are not meet, that person's deed
will not benefit him/her in the least. Of course, absence
of knowledge is always an exception (eg. a person may make
Wudhu but does not know the specific parts of the body that
are to be washed; thus, he/she washes those parts which
he/she thinks to be significant. His/her Wudhu was not
done in accordance with the Book and the Sunnah; however,
he/she did not know the way to make Wudhu according to the
Book and the Sunnah; hence, their Wudhu would be accepted
for a and b were fulfilled, wa Allahu 'alam). These are
the conditions which the Salaaf As-Salih (Pious
Predecessors) understood with regards to the acceptance and
rejection of a deed.

Another implications of the testimony: Muhammad is the
Messenger of Allah (SAAW).

BELIEF THAT HE (SAAW) WAS SENT TO ALL OF MANKIND AND THE
JINN

Verily, Allah, azza wa jall, has said in the Qur'an (what
means): "Say (O Muhammad SAAW): O mankind! Verily, I am
sent to you all as the Messenger of Allah - to Whom belongs
the dominion of the Heavens and the Earth. La illaha illa
Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). It is
He Who gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah
and His Messenger (SAAW), the Prophet who can neither read
nor write, who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow
him so that you may be guided." [Al-A'raf: 158].

The prophet (SAAW) said (what means): "And the Prophets
were formerly sent to their people only, whereas I have
been sent to all mankind." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Therefore, recognizing that he (SAAW) was sent as a mercy
to all of mankind will, Inshallah, help kindle the proper
love for him which will be manifested through obedience to
his rulings.

FINALITY OF HIS PROPHETHOOD

Indeed, there is no Messenger/Prophet after Muhammd ibnu
'Abd Allah (SAAW) as Allah, Ta 'Ala, says in His Book (what
means):

"Muhammad (SAAW) is not the father of any man among you,
but he is the Messenger of Allah, and the last (end) of the
Prophets. Allah is Ever All-Aware of everything."
[Al-Ahzab: 40].

The Prophet (SAAW) has said (what means): "And the line of
the Prophets is closed with me." [Muslim].

Believing that Muhammad (SAAW) is the final Messenger of
Allah confirms Allah's statement (what means): "...This
day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed my
Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your
religion..." [Al-Ma'idah:3 (in part)]. Thus, if Islam were
not a complete way of life, then this religion would need
to be constantly updated. In order to update this
religion, there would have to be another Prophet after
Muhammad (SAAW). However, this is not so as Allah
completed this Diyn and it can never be changed from its
true form.

BELIEVING THAT HE (SAAW) HAS BEEN GIVEN TWO (2) RELELATIONS

Al-Hamdulilah, Allah, azza wa jall, has give the Prophet
(SAAW) two revelations as understood by the Minhaj of the
Ahlus Sunnah Wal Juma'ah. These are, of course, the Qur'an
and the authentic Sunnah. Allah confirms this with His
saying (what means):

"Nor does he (Muhammad SAAW) speak of his own desire. It
is only an Inspiration that is inspired." [An-Najm: 3-4].

"Indeed, Allah conferred a great favour on the believers
when He sent among them a Messenger (Muhammad SAAW) from
among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses (the
Qur'an), and purifying them (from sins by their following
him), and instructing them (in) the Book (the Qur'an) and
Al-Hikmah (the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet SAAW -
i.e. his legal ways, statements, actions, etc.), while
before that they had been in manifest error." [Al-'Imran:
164].

The Prophet (SAAW) has also said (what means): "I have,
indeed, been given the Qur'an and something like it along
with it (i.e. his Sunnah)." [Abu Dawud].

Thus, there is no mere choice between following the Sunnah
and not following it. It has been sent down as part of
revelation; thus, it must be adhered to in full. It is
adhered to the way the Prophet (SAAW) explained it and the
way the Sahabah understood it. Allah confirms this with
His saying (what means):

"We sent no Messenger, but to be obeyed by the permission
of Allah."

"Obey Allah, and the Messenger (SAAW). But if they turn
away (then know), that Allah loves not the infidels."
[Al-'Imran: 31-32].

THE PROPHET HAS RIGHTS UPON HIS FOLLOWERS

These rights are: 1. We believe in what the Prophet
Muhammad (SAAW) has said. 2. We obey him in what has been
commanded and forsake what he has forbidden or
discouraged. 3. We worship Allah according to the
Shar'iah of His Messenger (SAAW), not by whims and Bid'ah
(innovations). 4. We judge ourselves by the Shar'iah of
Prophet Muhammad (SAAW), and not by any other law. 5. We
love Allah's Messenger (SAAW) more than our parents,
children, all of mankind, indeed our very selves.

Allah has confirmed the above with His statement (what
means):

"Say (to them O Muhammad SAAW): If you love Allah, follow
me, and Allah will love you, and forgive you your sins;
Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful. Say: Obey Allah, and
the Messenger (SAAW), but if they turn away (then know),
that Allah loves not the infidels." [Al-'Imran: 31-32].

"And let those who oppose his (Muhammad's SAAW) command
beware, lest a trail befall them (that will lead them to
Kuffur) or a painful punishment be inflicted on them."
[An-Nur: 63].

"You have indeed a good example in the Messenger of Allah
(SAAW) for whosoever hopes for Allah and the Last Day, and
remembers Allah much." [Al-Ahzab: 21].

"It is not for any believer, man or woman, when Allah and
His Messenger (SAAW) have decreed a matter, to have the
choice in their affair. And whosoever disobeys Allah and
His Messenger (SAAW) he has gone astray into manifest
error." [Al-Ahzab: 36].

"But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they
make you (O Muhammad SAAW) judge in all disputes between
them, and find in their souls no resistance against your
decisions, but accept (them) fully with submission."
[An-Nisa: 65].

Thus, we see in this last Ayah that Allah negates that a
person can have Imaan unless that person makes the Prophet
(SAAW) judge in *all* affairs and that we accept his (SAAW)
decisions with submission. This Ayah is indeed serious as
Allah swears to this negation with His saying (what means),
"But no, by your Lord...".

The Prophet (SAAW) stressed the importance of obeying and
following his Sunnah with his saying (what means):

"All of my people will enter Jennah except those who
refuse." When asked about those who refuse, he said: "He
who obeys me will enter Jennah, while he who disobeys me
has refused." [Al-Bukhari].

He (SAAW) also said (what means): "If anyone introduces
into this affair of ours anything which does not belong to
it, it is rejected." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

And: "None of you believes untill I am dearer to him than
his father, his child, and all of mankind." [Al-Bukhari
and Muslim].

And: "There are qualities for which anyone who is
characterized by them will experiece the sweetness of
Imaan: he to whom Allah and His Messenger (SAAW) are dearer
than all else; he who loves a human being for Allah's Sake
alone; and who has as great an abhorrence of returning to
Kuffur (disbelief) after Allah has rescued him from it as
he has being cast into the Hell Fire." [Al-Bukhari and
Muslim].

Although the Prophet (SAAW) is the best of examples and
following his Sunnah is obligatory, we must remember that
it is not right to overpraise him (SAAW) as he was not
divine, but a man. Some deviant sects of Islam direct
their 'Ibaadah to the Prophet (SAAW); however, this is
Shirk Al-Akbar (association in the highest degree) which
will not be forgiven unless that person makes sincere
Tawbah before his/her death.

A MAN AND NOT DIVINE

Allah says (what means):

"Say (O Muhammad SAAW): I am only a man like you: it is
revealed to me that your God is One God: So, let him who
hopes for the meeting with his Lord, do righteousness, and
not associate anything in the worship of hsi Lord."
[Al-Kahf: 111].

The Prophet (SAAW) said (what means): "Do not overpraise
me as the Christians overpraised the son of Mary (i.e. 'Isa
AS). I am His slave, so say: Allah's slave and Messenger."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

SENDING SALAAT AND SALAAM UPON THE NABEE (SAAW)

This is an action which the believer are commanded to do as
Allah says in the Qur'an (what means):

"Indeed, Allah and His angels send Salaat (i.e. Allah
mentions the Prophet's SAAW name in the presence of the
angels) upon the Prophet (SAAW). O you who believe! Send
your Salaat and your Salaam upon him (ie. by saying Salla
Allahu 'alaihi wa sallam, etc.)." [Al-Ahzab: 56].

Most Frequently Found Quranic Words & their Meanings Archive

Inshallah we are starting this program to learn Quranic words on the Jannah.Org message board. This is the archive of the words and references people have posted.

[assalaam alaikum wrt, since alot of people have been posting recently about trying to learn arabic, i thought it would be a good opportunity to bring up an idea i’ve had for a while now

i have this list of 835 words of the Quran whose frequency. in the Quran is 10 and above with meanings in English, by knowing the words one can understand 58.63 percent text of the Quran.

it’s extremely hard to actually sit down with this and memorize the words. and don’t ask me to photocopy this and send it to you because everyone i’ve given it to hasn’t been able to do anything with it (believe me i’ve had this for the last 3 years)

so to force myself to learn these words inshallah i am going to try to learn one word a day and try to go from there. i’ll post them on here to force myself and if anyone else wants to join in learning

i just wish there was a way i could somehow get the arabic on here as well…but i’ll do my best to kind of phoeneticize it ]

May Allah reward those who did the research to give us some great examples of how the words are used and may Allah guide us along the path to understanding the Quran. Ameen.

===========================

  1. Abada(Abadan) = Forever, Never
  2. The word abada appears several times in phrases like “…beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever…”

    Here is an example:

    Quran 98:8

“Their reward is with Allah: Gardens of Eternity, beneath which rivers flow; they will dwell therein for ever; Allah well pleased with them, and they with Him: all this for such as fear their Lord and Cherisher.”

    Forever

    …ma keseeni fihi abadan…

(18:3) (A state of bliss) in which they shall dwell forever.

    Never

…Qaala yaMusa inna lan nad khulaha abadan…

(5:24) They said:O Moses, behold! never shall we enter that land.

    ===============================

  3. Liabeehi = To his father (i=kasra, ee=letter yeh)
  4. Li means “to” or “for” abeehi means “his father”

I found this word in the story of Abraham (A) and in the story of Yusuf (A).

    TO HIS FATHER:

Wa iz qaala Ibrahimu liabeehi Azara…

“Lo!Abraham said to his father Azar:”Takest thou idols for gods? for I see thee and thy people in manifest error.” (6:74)

    Iz qaala liabeehi ya abati…

“Behold he(Abraham) said to his father: Why worship that which heareth not and seeth not and can profit thee nothing? (19:42)

    Iz qaala liabeehi wa qaumihi…

“Behold! he said to his father and his people “What are these images to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?” (21:52)

Iz qaala liabeehi wa qaumihi ma ta’budoon…

“Behold he (Abraham) said to his father and his people:”What worship ye?” (26:70)

    Wa iz qaala Ibrahimu liabeehi…

“Behold!Abraham said to his father and his people:”I do indeed clear myself of what ye worship” (43:26)

    ..Illa qaula Ibrahima liabeehi…

“…when Abraham said to his father:”I will pray for forgiveness for thee though i have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah…” (60:4)

Iz qaala Yusufu liabeehi yaa aabati…

“Behold Joseph said to his father:”O my father!I did see eleven stars and the sun and the moon;I saw them prostrate themselves to me!” (12:4)

    FOR HIS FATHER

wa ma kaana ustighfaru Ibrahima liabeehi…

“And Abraham prayed for his father’s forgiveness only because of a promise ha had made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah he dissociated himself from him: for Abraham was most tender-hearted forbearing.” (9:114)

    =================================

  5. Aabaa-ana = Our fathers (dir. obj)
  6. Aabaa-una = Our fathers (subj)
  7. Aabaa-ukum = Your fathers (plural)
  8. Just as a side note to remember these… the na at the end signifies Our, the kum at the end means Your

Here are some references. Use the Quranic word search and voila!

    Aabaa ana

    2:170

When it is said to them: “Follow what Allah hath revealed:” They say: “Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers.” What! even though their fathers were void of wisdom and guidance?

qaalu bal nattaabiu maa alfaina alaihi aabaa ana

    26:74

They said: “Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do).”

qaalu bal wa jadnaa aabaa ana kazalika yafaloon

    Aabaa akum

    2:200

So when ye have accomplished your holy rites, celebrate the praises of Allah, as ye used to celebrate the praises of your fathers,- yea, with far more Heart and soul. There are men who say: “Our Lord! Give us (Thy bounties) in this world!” but they will have no portion in the Hereafter.

    kazikri kum aabaa akum

    Aabaa una

    6:148

Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: “If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos.” So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: “Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie.”

Lau sha allahu maa ashrakna wa laa aabaa una wa laa harram na min shai in

    16:35

The worshippers of false gods say: “If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him – neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His.” So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of messengers but to preach the Clear Message?

Min sha innahnu wa laa abaa una wa laa harram na

    Aabaa ukum

    4:22

And marry not women whom your fathers married,- except what is past: It was shameful and odious,- an abominable custom indeed.

Wa laa tankihu maa nakaha aabaa ukum minna nisaai

    9:24

Say: If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline: or the dwellings in which ye delight – are dearer to you than Allah, or His Messenger, or the striving in His cause;- then wait until Allah brings about His decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious

Qul inkana aabaa ukim wa abtaa ukum

    ===================================

  9. Ta’toona = (You) commit, you come (pl.) (‘=alif with hamza on it)
  10. I found this word in the story of Prophet Lut (pbuh) and his people. Interestingly, the two different meanings of the word are used in consecutive verses.

    27:54 (ta’toona = (you) commit)

(We also sent) Lut (as a messenger): behold, He said to his people, “Do ye do what is shameful though ye see (its iniquity)?

wa lutan iz qaala liqaumihii atatoonal fahishata wa antum tubsiroon

    27:55 (ta’toona = you come)

Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant!

aa innakum la tatoonarri jaala shahwatanmin dunin nisaai bal antum qaumun tajhaloon

    29:28 (ta’toona = (you) commit)

And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: “Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you.

wa lutu iz qaala liqaumihii innakum la tatoonal fahishata …

    29:29 (ta’toona = you come)

“Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?” But his people gave no answer but this: they said: “Bring us the Wrath of Allah if thou tellest the truth.”

aa innakum la tatoonarri jaala wa taqtaoonas sabeela …

    ============================================

  11. Ithmu, Ithman = Sin
  12. 2:173 He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, recompense for their “earnings.”

wa zaru zhaahiral ithmi wa batinahu innallazeena yaksiboonal ithma sayujzaona bima kanu yaqtarifoon

7:33 Say: the things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which He hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge.

…wal ithma wal bagyi bigairil haqqi…

    ==================================

  13. Ajru, Ajran = Reward
  14. 4:40 Allah is never unjust in the least degree: If there is any good (done), He doubleth it, and giveth from His own presence a great reward.

…wa in taku hasanatan yudha’ifha wa yu’ti min ladunhu ajran azheem

    ================================

  15. Ahadan = One or Any
  16. Ahadu = Anybody or Somebody
  17. AHADAN = One or Any

    …wa la yazlimu rabbuka ahadan.

…And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice. (18:49)

    AHADU = Anybody or somebody

…imma yablughanna ‘indakal kibara ahadu humaa auw kilaahuma…

Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, And that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. (17:23)

    24:28 (ahadan)

If ye find no one in the house, enter not until permission is given to you: if ye are asked to go back, go back: that makes for greater purity for yourselves: and Allah knows well all that ye do. fa inlam tajidu fefeehaa ahadan…

    49:12 (ahadu)

O ye who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brothe? Nay, ye would abhor it…But fear Allah: For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

…ayuhibbu ahadu kum anya kula lahma akheehi maitan fakarih tumoohu…

    =================================

  18. Ajala = Fixed period, yes
  19. AJALA = Fixed period

…wa balaghnaa ajala nallazi ajjalta lana…

And we have reached the term thou hast appointed for us… (6:128)

    …wali kulli ummatin ajalun…

And for every community there is (an appointed) term (i.e. in the divine plan) (7:34)

    ===============================

  20. Bi-idhni = Command or Permission
  21. Bi-idhnihi=With his permission
  22. bi-idhni

3:166 What ye suffered on the day the two armies Met, was with the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers,-

Wa maa asabakum yaomal takal jam’ani fa bi-idhnillahi wa liya’lamal mu’mineen

10:100 No soul can believe, except by the will of Allah, and He will place doubt (or obscurity) on those who will not understand.

Wa ma kana linafsin an tu’mina illa bi-idhnillahi…

14:23 But those who believe an and work righteousness will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow,- to dwell therein for aye with the leave of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be: “Peace!”

But those who believe and work righteousness, and humble themselves before their Lord,- They will be companions of the gardens, to dwell therein for aye

    13:23

Gardens of perpetual bliss: they shall enter there, as well as the righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring: and angels shall enter unto them from every gate (with the salutation):

    14:23

But those who believe and work righteousness will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow,- to dwell therein for aye with the leave of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be: “Peace!”

    18:31

For them will be Gardens of Eternity; beneath them rivers will flow; they will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold, and they will wear green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade: They will recline therein on raised thrones. How good the recompense! How beautiful a couch to recline on!

    18:107

As to those who believe and work righteous deeds, they have, for their entertainment, the Gardens of Paradise,

    22:14

Verily Allah will admit those who believe and work righteous deeds, to Gardens, beneath which rivers flow: for Allah carries out all that He plans.

    22:23

Allah will admit those who believe and work righteous deeds, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow: they shall be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their garments there will be of silk.

    29:58

But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness – to them shall We give a Home in Heaven,- lofty mansions beneath which flow rivers,- to dwell therein for aye;- an excellent reward for those who do (good)!-

    35:33

Gardens of Eternity will they enter: therein will they be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their garments there will be of silk.

    40:8

“And grant, our Lord! that they enter the Gardens of Eternity, which Thou hast promised to them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their posterity! For Thou art (He), the Exalted in Might, Full of Wisdom.

    41:30

In the case of those who say, “Our Lord is Allah”, and, further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time): “Fear ye not!” (they suggest), “Nor grieve! but receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), the which ye were promised!

    42:22

Thou wilt see the Wrong-doers in fear on account of what they have earned, and (the burden of) that must (necessarily) fall on them. But those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in the luxuriant meads of the Gardens: they shall have, before their Lord, all that they wish for. That will indeed be the magnificent Bounty (of Allah).

    47:12

Verily Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow; while those who reject Allah will enjoy (this world) and eat as cattle eat; and the Fire will be their abode.

    52:17

As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,-

    55:46

But for such as fear the time when they will stand before (the Judgment Seat of) their Lord, there will be two Gardens-

    55:54

They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach).

    55:62

And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,-

    57:12

One Day shalt thou see the believing men and the believing women- how their Light runs forward before them and by their right hands: (their greeting will be): “Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which flow rivers! to dwell therein for aye! This is indeed the highest Achievement!”

    64:9

The Day that He assembles you (all) for a Day of Assembly,- that will be a Day of mutual loss and gain (among you), and those who believe in Allah and work righteousness,- He will remove from them their ills, and He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that will be the Supreme Achievement.

    66:8

O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance: In the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands, while they say, “Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thou hast power over all things.”

    68:34

Verily, for the Righteous, are Gardens of Delight, in the Presence of their Lord.

    98:8

Their reward is with Allah: Gardens of Eternity, beneath which rivers flow; they will dwell therein for ever; Allah well pleased with them, and they with Him: all this for such as fear their Lord and Cherisher.

    7:42

But those who believe and work righteousness,- no burden do We place on any soul, but that which it can bear,- they will be Companions of the Garden, therein to dwell (for ever).

    36:55

    Verily the Companions of the Garden shall that Day have joy in all that they do;

    39:73

And those who feared their Lord will be led to the Garden in crowds: until behold, they arrive there; its gates will be opened; and its keepers will say: “Peace be upon you! well have ye done! enter ye here, to dwell therein.”

    76:12

And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk.

    76:13

Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun’s (excessive heat) nor (the moon’s) excessive cold.

    76:14

And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility.
